1
Fes Medina Guided Walking Tour
Your visit will commence with a guided walking tour of the Fes Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its labyrinth of 9,600 twisting alleyways, making it the largest urbanized pedestrian area in the world. The first stop will be Seffarine Square, where you can witness (and hear!) the metalworkers practicing their craft using traditional methods with copper, brass, and pewter. As you navigate through the snaking passageways, you will visit the famous tanneries, followed by the Al-Quarawiyyine University, which is recognized as the oldest university in the world and holds great significance in Islam. The university is beautifully decorated and has been recently restored to its ancient glory. Next, you will explore the exotic aromas of spices and fresh, piled vegetables in the Attarine souk, and marvel at the exquisitely decorated Attarine Medersa. The tour will then take you to Nejjarine Square, known for its stunning mosaic public fountain and the Woodwork Museum, housed in a former caravanserai.

Fes Medina Rampart Tour
Your journey continues with a tour around the city ramparts of Fes in an air-conditioned vehicle. You'll see the ancient walls and numerous charming Babs (gates) before reaching the South Tower, a French-built fortress situated on a hilltop overlooking the medina. This location provides breathtaking views of the old city and its surroundings. From there, you’ll visit a ceramic factory where you can observe potters at work, using kilns to create their ceramic wares. Here, you’ll also have the opportunity to purchase traditional Fassi blue and white pottery at bargain prices, along with a variety of colorful designs. The tour will then take you to the magnificent Dar El Makhzen, the Royal Palace of Fes, known for its seven enormous bronze entrance doors. A short drive will bring you to the iconic Bab Boujloud, the grand main gateway to the medina, which is beautifully patterned with blue tiles on one side for Fes and green tiles on the other for Islam. At the end of your Fes Day Tour, your guide from Fez Charm Tours will drop you off at your overnight accommodation.
